A set of five stainless steel vintage dental tools, two of which are stamped with the name Ash, England — a mark of quality from one of Britain's most respected dental instrument makers. A great set for collectors of dental antiques, medical history enthusiasts, or as striking display or prop objects.

Condition

  • Material: Stainless steel.
  • Cosmetic: Good condition overall. Some surface tarnishing to varying degrees on each tool, nothing major. Two have colour-coded tape on the handles — a common practice in dental surgeries for instrument identification.
  • Hygiene: All sterilised.
  • Dimensions: Each tool is approximately 16cm long.

Provenance

  • Maker (two tools): Ash & Sons, England — founded in London in 1820 by Claudius Ash, the firm became one of the foremost manufacturers of dental instruments and equipment in Britain, supplying the dental profession for well over a century. The Ash name on a dental instrument is a genuine mark of quality and heritage.
  • Items: A mixed set of dental examination and treatment tools — the type used daily in British dental surgeries throughout the mid-20th century.
  • Era: Mid-20th century.
